“We are more than conquerors through him who loved us.”
Romans 8:37
The Lord Jesus invites each one of us to share in the great victory he has won for us on the cross. He paid the just penalty for our sins. He won pardon for our offenses. By his stripes we are healed. By his humble self-abasement he crushed pride and rebellion. And by his blood we are cleansed and made a new creation through his life-giving Spirit.
It is our duty – our calling and great privilege to follow the Lord Jesus, the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world, and to offer our lives as a living sacrifice for his praise and glory.
Our greatest freedom is to walk in his love, obey his word, and lay down our lives for one another.
“This is how all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
John 13:15
As we approach the beginning of the Forty Days of Lent, let us renew our call to follow the Lord together as a community of disciples on mission. We are co-laborers with the Lord Jesus. He calls us to advance his kingdom through daily prayer and intercession, listening to his voice and sharing his Word – the good news of salvation – wherever we have opportunity – beginning with our families, neighbors, and communities.
This issue highlights the divine providence of God in human affairs and the power of intercessory prayer and witness to the truth and goodness of the Redeemer who brings new life and freedom in his Holy Spirit.
Sincerely in Christ,
