Sharing Good News without Fear or Shame

In Paul’s letter to the Romans, he writes, 

“For I am not ashamed of the Gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.” 

Romans 1:16

The Greek word translated “gospel” literally means “good news”. The most natural response to good news in our lives is to celebrate it and share it with others. And yet, we often have fear and even shame when it comes to sharing the greatest news on the planet with people.

Paul says quite clearly. “I am not ashamed of the Gospel” And then he tells us why. “Because it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes.” The weight of his conviction overcame the weight of his shame. He knew that eternal salvation was at stake and was willing to suffer, be uncomfortable and even seen as a fool for the sake of the Gospel.

Take a minute and remind yourself of the saving work of Jesus Christ in your own life.

Then pray and ask the Lord to remove any fear or shame that might get in the way of sharing the Gospel with others.
