In Psalm 27, David writes:
“Wait for the LORD; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the LORD!”
Psalms 27:14
Often, waiting seems tedious or pointless. Rather than focusing on “what” or “who” we are waiting for, we can tend to focus on the waiting itself. But waiting is the time to build virtue, to learn patience, and to grow in courage. Waiting is the time to still mind, heart, and body and bring them under the charge of the Holy Spirit.
There is a time and place for everything and “the Lord’s time” is the best time and he wastes nothing!
To leap ahead prematurely is to truncate the perfect plan of God and risk arousing expectations and actions that aren’t ready to come to fruition. So, wait for the Lord. Be strong. He will not disappoint!
Ask yourself today: How can I be a person who waits well?
