Finding creative ways to express
eternal truths
Marianne works mainly with welding rods and sheet metal using oxyacetylene
welding. She also loves to work in stone. Her object is nearly always a
human being. She wants to find expressions of our essence and the
complex system of our nature in relationship to our creator. Her wish is
to find ways to express deep and eternal truths and build a bridge for
the viewer to walk on.
"girl crouching" |
Marianne comments on her work "girl
crouching"
"I am amazed that God has given such dignity to man and woman. I am in awe when I meditate on God and his wonderful work of creation. I see a girl sitting, peaceful, listening. Psalm 8 says it so beautifully: O Lord, our Lord, your greatness is seen in all the world. ..What is man that you think of him; mere man, that you care for him? Yet you made him inferior only to yourself; you crowned him with glory and honor. ..O Lord, our Lord, your greatness is seen in all the world!" |
