Empty
Until Filled with Him
.
“But
whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty
again.
The
water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water
welling
up to eternal life.” - John 4:14

Soon after the start of the 2012
Detroit
Summer Outreach (DSO) I was continually reminded of how empty I was.
How can I give when I have nothing left? God reminded me that I am indeed
empty. For he is the filler. He is the one who fills, who overflows, and
continues to fill. There should be no fear in giving, because if I give
from what he has given to me, there is abundance. If I draw from my own
strength, I will be empty. I need to look to him, not myself. For I am
meant to receive so I can give; not give so I can receive. Without the
grace, the love, the peace of God, I have nothing to give. I am indeed
empty until I am filled with him.
